Gabriella Minnes Brandes PhD (UBC) has been teaching the Alexander Technique for over 30 years, maintaining an active practice at the Alexander Technique Centre in Vancouver.

For over a decade she taught the Alexander Technique in the Theatre Department at Capilano University. She was the founder and co-director of the Vancouver School of the Alexander Technique which ran for 15 years. She is currently participating with a small team running an Alexander teacher training course.

Gaby taught and presented in training courses and conferences in Canada, USA and Europe. Her practice and research interests focus on the connections between creativity, performance, pedagogy and the application of concepts of the Alexander Technique in different contexts. She has been a part of the research team inquiring into the ways in which Alexander Technique and Mindfulness-Based Approaches work synergistically in moments of stress. She is an active member of ATI, ATC, PAAT, AmSAT and STAT.
