Continuous Learning

Loved and cherished Continuous Learning sessions are back, of course! Check out our presenters’ bios and class descriptions to find your favourites. Information about the ratio of practical/doing/active time to lecture style time is also included to allow you to understand not only what you are going to learn, but also how. Continuous Learning sessions are the classes that require pre-booking. Please select your Group A or B by ticking in the box below. You can then choose one from each group. This will be first come first serve, so attendees who register early will have an advantage. We plan to begin this well prior to the Congress. We will let you know when we have an exact date and inform you via website and newsletter. Please check back.

Continuous Learning

Continuous Learning (CL) sessions are given by experienced Alexander Technique teachers. Choose two different classes running over two days each.

Workshop

Workshops are usually 90 minutes, unless stated otherwise on website or by the presenter. They run every day of the week, except for Wednesday.

Workshop

Workshops are the cornerstone of every Congress, and your chance to showcase the work. Your reputation and professional expertise are extremely valuable to the international Alexander Technique Community, and will help to make the Congress a reflection of the best that the global Alexander community has to offer.

How-to Sessions

How-to is an event type introduced at Berlin and is being kept for the Dublin Congress. In these hour and a half sessions you will be able to explore a wide range of areas where the Alexander Technique can be applied and learn how-to talk to specific audiences. Think eyesight, marketing, working with companies, working online and many more.

How-to Sessions

How-to sessions run parallel to the Workshops. These are daily sessions with teachers who have deep knowledge on specific topics.

Panel Discussion

We had them in Berlin, and they were great – so much passion, so many ideas! Let’s have some more to find out where the Technique is going now. What is the role of the AT in exercise-based therapy? How do we work with emotions? What are the best strategies for inclusion and diversity? How can our work contribute to democracy and social justice? What is the Science of Pain? Would you like to present on such a panel? Do you have a hot AT topic that you would like to move forward and discuss with the AT community? Let us know!

Panel Discussion

The perfect opportunity to explore a variety of topics from different perspectives. Get inspired, ask questions and join in the discussion!

Teatime Conversation

Special interest workshops/groups – workshops and talks about a specific theme with a moderator and those who are interested in the topic. Meet, share and learn from each other and maybe even create something new.

Meet in special interest groups and talk about a theme close to your heart. This is your chance to attend other sort of workshops, meet other teachers, share and learn from each other.

Activity

Our Community has many talented practitioners, with many different skills. The Activities at the Congress will allow all of us to appreciate some of these. Each session has a teacher combining his experience as an AT teacher with his other knowledge, to create an hour of learning, fun and interaction. Have a good start into the day or an active way to close the Congress day before dinner and the evening program. You can attend one session or all of them, book as required.

Activity

Some activities have doubled up and will now take place in the mornings as well as in the evenings! Running, Tai Chi, Meditation, Yoga and more…

With music, games, walks, dance and movies, every evening is a chance to get together, spend time with your friends, make new ones, and have fun. You can even keep the learning going with the AT movie nights! Plus: There’s a daily Cocktail Bar!
