Forest Bathing

What is Forest Bathing? Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku, is an evidence based practice that involves immersing yourself in nature, mindfully connecting with the forest environment through all your senses. It’s a therapeutic way to reduce stress, enhance well-being, and promote relaxation.

What to Expect

The mindfulness walks take place in our 33-acre private native Irish woodland in Kilternan, Co. Dublin. Shinrin-Yoku or “Forest Bathing” has been practiced in Japan and Korea since 1982, backed by nearly 40 years of scientific research showing its physical and mental benefits. During the 2-hour walk, you are invited to slowly walk through the forest, tuning into the sounds, smells, feelings, and visual aspects of nature. This experience fosters a deeper appreciation of nature and, in turn, of yourselfOur certified Forest Bathing Guides will offer invitations to connect with nature, and you will have opportunities to share your experiences with the group/guide. The space we create is safe and non-judgmental, with no pressure to participate or share unless you feel comfortable. The walk concludes with a gratitude or tea ceremony, providing a gentle transition back to your everyday tasks.
