Robin Gilmore began studying the Alexander Technique and other somatic disciplines in 1980, qualifying to teach AT in 1986.
She was fortunate to study with Marjorie Barstow for a number of years. She has presented workshops at numerous International Congresses and teaches at several residential workshops throughout the USA. She is a faculty member in the Dance Department at the Peabody Institute.
Robin has directed Alexander teacher training programs in Greensboro, North Carolina and Kyoto, Japan and has a private practice in Annapolis, Maryland. She is the author of What Every Dancer Needs to Know About the Body.
Robin has been dancing her entire life. Improvisation and developmental movement inform her teaching.
