Remember Psycho Physical Unity

I came to work with Alzheimer’s patients because I was personally affected.  I researched for over 12 years into how I could take the principles of the Alexander Technique and the support approach as a basis for this work.

To introduce you to the approach of my work, I would like to give a practical introduction in which we bring Alexander principles and the support approach into our own experience. Then I will show excerpts from the film ‘FM Alexander Technique for Alzheimer’s Dementia’ by Mechthild Rickheit and Ulli Pawlas, which illustrates this work and makes embodiment visible. I will also report on my experiences. It seems as if new connections can be embodied through this work and access to psycho-physical unity can be regained. The people I have been able to accompany and teach for so long have taught me a lot about being human and I am still grateful for that today.
