Freedom and Flow for musicians

Flow is the most desired wish for all musicians: the freedom to express what they imagine and feel without being afraid, limited, or blocked. Unfortunately, almost all musicians practise their instruments in unhelpful ways, and not just on a level of poise, breathing and coordination. Most musicians artificially separate music from technique, which is one of the significant root causes of performance anxiety. Another significant universal habit is to zoom into small details that take up all their mind space and disconnect them from their musical feelings.

In this practical workshop, we’ll explore how to practise in a flow-enhancing way:

How can we prevent the separation of music and technique?
How can we think constructively while practising?
How can we tune into our musical feelings?
What works best for students who tend to ‘freeze’? And what if they tend to go into ‘fight’ or ‘flight’?

I will bring my violin, but it would be great if some other people could bring their instruments too.
Let’s explore this wonderful topic with some practical examples!
