Building Confidence and Joy in Teaching

This will be an interactive, hands-on workshop where participants will engage with limiting ideas or beliefs about their teaching abilities in order to diminish the power of those ideas or beliefs and build confidence in their skills as an Alexander Technique teacher.

We will use the knowledge of activities we know we do well, as well as ones we don’t, as a platform for exploring areas of teaching the Alexander Technique we wish to improve. Participants will be led through solo exercises to sense the kinaesthetic response to various stimuli associated with confidence and lack of confidence. They will then apply this knowledge to hands-on teaching with each other while utilizing a unique take on inhibition to release old ways of thinking and being to uncover deeper dimensions into their teaching skill. Think of this as a class for Alexander Technique Teachers where you can take the time and space to explore your relationship with the work in a supportive, open environment while you find joy and fine-tune your abilities as a teacher.
