Many performers complain that they feel stifled, cut off from their emotions, their creative ‘juices’ when they perform. Some get caught up in ‘getting it right’ or ‘technique’. Others develop stage nerves. They find themselves stiffening; their breathing becomes shallow.
Through AT, performers can free not only their powerful body-mind, but also ignite their creative impulses, the impulses that are uniquely theirs. Performers learn a clear set of directions that frees them from their habits of shallow breath, tight muscles, and habit-ridden execution. They have a means whereby they can soar – their creativity is unleashed, and they have an effortless and inclusive relationship with audience and other performers. They become a creative powerhouse for whom the subtlest nuance is accessible and shareable.
‘All of Me’ is suitable for all performers and teachers of performers – and for anyone who loves self-expression. It’s for teachers, speakers, anyone who shares content in front of a group of any kind. Whether you ‘perform’ in the largest opera house or the smallest classroom, these applications of AT are for you. This is a fully interactive workshop – you can bring a short piece of text or a phrase or two of music to share, but it isn’t required, and, of course, observers are welcome!
