Her training as an Alexander-teacher with Mary Holland, a student of Walter Carrington, characterised her basic work. Mary Holland’s approach was complemented by her encounter with Marjorie Barstow, whose lively, creative and dynamic way of teaching the AT was a lasting inspiration for Gabriele.
Gabriele is committed to making the Alexander Technique more accessible and understandable without losing its depth and quality. She is convinced that the competences of an AT teacher must be developed in order to reform the design of lessons so that AT lessons meet modern requirements.
With her experience, in-depth knowledge and dedication, Gabriele is committed to ensuring that the Alexander Technique is not only preserved in its original conception and quality, but is also further developed to meet modern requirements. Her approach is an inspiring example for other teachers who want to preserve the depth of the method and at the same time make it more accessible to the general public.
As the head of an AT training centre at Lake Constance, Gabriele has been dedicated to researching modern teaching methods and developing advanced skills since 2020. She is working to further develop the didactics of the training and to train the skills of the trainees so that they can meet the complex requirements of today’s AT teaching practice.
