Modern ‘means whereby’ of making AT lessons successful

In order to create intrinsic motivation and client loyalty, we use the findings from non-violent communication according to M Rosenberg, from the client-centred theory according to Carl Rogers, and from the findings of interpersonal psychotherapy. This enables us to provide transparency, traceability and a safe space when working with our AT students. In this context, it is important to become aware of physical and verbal boundary transgressions, which can occur very subtly in the AT teacher/student setting.

We now know that wherever there is a power imbalance, even if only a slight one, people are susceptible to boundary violations. Therefore, we will share with you what your experiences are as AT teachers in relation to boundary violations.

On the first day of the CL, we will do practical exercises with you, which we will guide precisely beforehand and reflect on together afterwards. We want to teach skills that you can then develop further yourself in the future.

On the 2nd day of the CL, we want to discuss the topic of boundary violations with you. We will also do exercises that will make you more aware of when a boundary violation has occurred. It is important for us to teach you how we as AT teachers can make it possible for the student to talk about boundary violations.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Elena Munding

Elena Munding, a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique recognized by the German Alexander Technique Association (ATVD), inspires individuals to explore self-awareness and personal growth. Her teaching emphasizes the psycho-physical unity, integrating mental awareness with physical experience to foster meaningful change.

Gabriele Fahrenkamp-Brandt

Studying education and theatre laid the foundation for Gabriele's deep understanding of learning processes and the dynamics between body and self-expression. These foundations helped her to implement the Alexander -Technique not only practically and theoretically, but also didactically.
