She first trained as an actor and musical theatre performer, working as a theatre director, playwright, composer and performer, but quickly found most of her work singing and teaching movement. After becoming a yoga teacher in 2009, Charlotte began leading voice and movement workshops, organized around breathing, experiential anatomy, and voice/movement explorations while singing in community. She has sung a wide repertoire – from Sondheim to Machaut – as soloist, ensemble-singer, church musician, improviser/collaborator, and as part of an early music soprano duo. Charlotte has assisted at the Royal College of Music, the London School of Musical Theatre and with the Temple Church choral scholars program.
After graduating from the London Centre of Alexander Technique and Training (LCATT), Charlotte and fellow graduate Rosalie collaborated to offer Singing into Being workshops. Charlotte is dedicated to developing accessible resources for performers, including Folder Shoulder, a short course for choristers, and The Process Rooms, a movement and Alexander Technique class for musicians.
