Antoinette Kranenburg

After earning degrees in psychology and urban planning in the Netherlands, Antoinette was introduced to the Alexander Technique in 1978 and qualified to teach in 1988. She works with groups and individuals, both in-person and online, empowering adults interested in personal growth and physical and mental well-being.

Marjorie Barstow and the teachers who studied with Marj have been an important influence, and she is interested in the diverse teaching approaches in the Alexander world.

Antoinette, who is certified by Alexander Technique International (ATI) and serves on its Professional Development Committee, has presented at conferences in the USA, Europe and Japan. Antoinette taught at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, and is a guest teacher at the South Bank Alexander Technique Centre in London, UK.

Antoinette has a strong foundation in Adlerian Psychology as a parenting educator. The insight she gained about our reactive patterns of behaviour, has informed her Alexander teaching. She has developed a unique workshop series that integrates the practical and empowering principles of the Alexander Technique and Adlerian Psychology.

Antoinette packs her tango shoes when she travels, and enjoys community singing and the outdoors, all of which are enriched by the Alexander work.
