Co-Creating Release: Clean Language as a powerful tool to help clients release tension
In this workshop you can discover how words can guide your clients to find release from their tension. Some tension is connected to our clients on a deeper level, and may require a different approach from what the Alexander Technique has to offer. Trauma might be a reason, there might also be other reasons.
The mind cannot necessarily access these kinds of tension. As such, inhibition and direction may not be able to access them. Nonetheless, we all have some knowledge in our bodies about what we need to heal, and what we need to release.
Our clients also carry this wisdom about themselves. Clean Language offers questions that you can use to help your client to get in touch with this wisdom. Clean Language is a questioning technique which has its origin in trauma therapy. It can be used as a very helpful tool in combination with working with the body and the mind. The questions can lead to a dialogue between our own body and the unconscious mind.
The questions are simple but have great impact, as they allow the client to discover more about themselves. The method also includes exquisite listening. Exquisite listening means that the therapist repeats the client’s insights but does not make any interpretations or conclusions of their own. This creates an atmosphere where the client truly feels heard and can dive deeper.
I use Clean Language in my teaching to guide my clients to get in touch with their tension / pain / restriction and what might lie beneath it. This may be just one single question I ask alongside the Alexander work, it also may be a Clean Language dominated session.
For me the Clean questions have been the missing piece for these moments where I got stuck on how to guide my clients to release tension so that the directions could actually do their job. By offering the questions, my clients usually find their very own solution and transformation into more ease.
Join this workshop if you are interested to offer your clients a space to co-create their process of releasing, together with their inner wisdom.
I will explain the principle of Clean Language, and teach you some of the basic questions that you can use along with your teaching. There will also be space to for experience and to practice using the questions.
