									Midori Shinkai is the Senior Director of the Alexander Alliance Japan in Kyoto.								
				After graduating from Teachers College Columbia University with a master’s degree in education and cultural anthropology in 1983. She taught at Kyoto Seika University as an English teacher.
Together with Yuzuru Katagiri who had introduced Alexander Technique into Japan, she helped spread AT throughout Japan. She founded KAPPA, the first AT teacher training school in Japan. In addition, to training teachers in Japan, she has trained teachers in Korea, Germany and the USA.
Midori has acted as a translator for many Alexander teachers between English and Japanese since 1986.
Midori has been studying SEITAI (by Haruchika Noguchi) from the late 1970s.
