Since 2021 she has been on the AT faculty at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was a horn student in the 1990s.
In 2016 she founded and was Director of Training of an ATAS recognised school in Stuttgart, the South German Alexander Technique Centre (SATZ), which she continued until her move to the UK in 2020. Prior to that she was named assistant at the Alexander Technique Teacher Training Centre in Zurich (ATLAZ) for five years.
In addition to training AT teachers for nearly 10 years at the ATLAZ in Zurich and the SATZ in Stuttgart, she has also designed and delivered continuing professional development (CPD) workshops for AT teachers and music teachers, alongside regular one-to-one and group teaching.
Kerin is also active as professional French horn player, regularly appearing in West End musicals such as Wicked, Back to the Future and The Lion King, as well as classical engagements with various ensembles including the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Welsh National Opera and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
Needless to say, she is particularly inspired by her work with musicians of all levels, having the first-hand experience of just how life-changing it can be. Beyond her employment at the RAM, her work as an AT teacher with musicians has included guest workshops and lessons for Texas State University, Denison University and Interlochen Arts Academy in the USA, Leuphana University and the Musikschule im Schloss in Germany and the International Horn Symposium in London, amongst others. She also founded and ran an AT programme at Kingston Grammar School in Surrey as part of the music department until 2003.
