Getting the Work out in the World (OR, Teaching Skills for making the Work more accessible)

Join this highly experiential CL designed to offer you the basic tools and technical skills for introducing the Work to groups in an interactive, non-hierarchical style which allows students to quickly understand and experience what the Work has to offer them – leading them to want to study more (and helping you build your practice). Whether your intro is 20 minutes, 2 hours, or 2 days, or whether you have 5 people, 50, or 500, you can design a group intro which effectively offers everyone a direct experience of the Principles of the Work, and a curiosity to explore more. We will cover new paradigms for group teaching (not just a group watching you teach a turn), how to use activity and situational lessons, effective hand skills for working quickly with people, metaphors and language which are free from AT jargon, and how to create group activities/études/games which offer a direct experience of the Work. This CL includes Practical Teaching Skills, Group Teaching, AT Games, Communication Skills, and DEI-based content.  You’ll get a great deal of practical, time-tested, material to apply immediately in your practice.
