Being in Nature, Connecting Inside and Out
A practical and joyful exploration of how our Alexander Technique work can help others, and ourselves, find a deeper connection to Nature for wellbeing.
The wellbeing and transformative effects of being in Nature are becoming more well known with shinrin yoku (forest bathing), heliotherapy, ‘wilding’ retreats, mindful walks and other activities becoming more mainstream. Our work has much to offer! For many people, it is difficult to find contact with their body, to slow down and truly connect with themselves and what is around them.
Many practices can open our receptivity. We will work with natural AT informed movements, breath, rhythm and exploration of the senses helping us to find our place between the ground and sky.
The workshop draws on Julia’s work leading groups of people to help them be more fully in Nature. She will share activities from recent workshops she led working with staff at Wakehurst Gardens and the London Wildlife Trust. She will also introduce practices that can be used in individual lessons. Some of the session will be spent (weather permitting) outside.
All are welcome!
