Are Emotions and Sensations Real?

This a workshop where I share how I integrate my Somatic Experiencing skills when teaching the Alexander Technique.

We will explore the importance of acknowledging, making conscious and honouring the internal emotional world of our students to empower them with agency and healthy boundaries.  Can students say ‘no’ or express their needs during lessons and in their everyday lives?   By validating the affects and sensations they experience in the present moment, we cultivate trust, connection and safety.   We will also explore how students’ body language can reveal insights into their internal state in relation to their nervous systems.   Additionally, we will emphasise the importance of meeting our students where they are, holding a safe space from a state of being, curiosity and not doing.
