Alexander’s early procedures and the Delsarte system – were they linked?

We know that early on, Alexander taught the Delsarte System of Gestural Training. I will present evidence that this work probably formed the basis of his early procedures. What was he teaching? In this workshop we will explore the early procedures he used, and explore how they relate to Delsartean methods. We’ll explore the beginnings of inhibition and direction, standing, then coming on toes and taking a step.

Come willing to explore without preconceptions, and discover the methods and ideas that may underpin the Alexander technique!
