Call for Workshop Proposals: AT Congress Dublin 2025

Submission Deadline: 3 November 2024

Dear Alexander Technique Community,

We are now inviting workshop proposals from those in our worldwide community who are eager to share their knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

The Alexander Technique Congress provides a platform for attendees from around the world to come together, exchange ideas, and deepen their understanding of this transformative discipline. Workshops are crucial in facilitating this exchange by offering attendees unique opportunities for experiential learning, skill development, and personal growth.

We welcome workshop proposals on a wide range of topics related to the Alexander Technique, including but not limited to:

  1. Fundamentals of the Alexander Technique: Exploring key principles and concepts.
  2. Applications in Daily Life: Practical strategies for integrating the Alexander Technique into everyday activities.
  3. Specialized Techniques: Deepen knowledge in specific areas such as performance, rehabilitation, mindfulness, and Ethics of Touch.
  4. Hands-On Practice: Interactive sessions provide hands-on experience, individualized feedback, and touch ethics.
  5. Research and Innovation: Presentations on current research, developments, and innovations in the field. The future of AT or the survival of AT in the future.

 

Proposal Submission Guidelines:

  • Workshop Title: Clearly indicate the title of your proposed workshop.
  • Workshop Description: Provide a detailed description outlining your workshop’s content, objectives, and intended audience (maximum 300 words).
  • Duration: Specify your workshop’s preferred duration (typically 30 to 90 minutes) or it could be a Teatime conversation.
  • Presenter Bio: Include a brief biography highlighting your qualifications, experience, and expertise in the Alexander Technique field. For consistency, please write this using third-person pronouns such as she, her, hers, herself, he, him, his, himself, they, them, their, theirs, and themselves. Please enter only the main presenter here and email us ([email protected]) details of any additional presenters. 
  • Audio-Visual Requirements: Specify any audio-visual equipment or materials you will need for your workshop. Please note that some classrooms may have limited facilities and you will be responsible for making sure that you have all your materials in the right/multiple formats and saved in a way that is secure and can be presented easily.
  • We are going to have Poster Presentations area as well – A1 size posters preferred
  • Please note due to limited space and time and for fair access presenters will only be allocated more than one slot under exceptional circumstances.

Please log in first and then complete the workshop proposal form on the website by 3 November 2024. The Congress Workshops Panel will carefully review all proposals, and successful applicants will be notified in due course. The Panel will consist of the Congress Directors and two assistants. Please note that the Congress Workshops Panel have the final say in what proposals are accepted. Some early proposals have already been accepted and will go live on the website soon.
