Sydney Harris is a founder, Board of Directors member, active co-director, and continuing senior faculty of the Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles (ATILA).

She, through Alexander Technique USA LLC (AT-USA; https://alexanderusa.com) also practices privately in California, USA, active since she was certified to teach in 1977.
Sydney was trained in the first Alexander teacher training course offered by Frank Ottiwell and Giora Pinkas under the umbrella of ACAT West (Frank, along with July Liebowitz, was one of the five original founders of the American Center of the Alexander Technique, ie., ACAT). Sydney feels fortunate to have also worked with Marjorie Barstow, Patrick MacDonald, and Walter and Dilys Carrington, both during her time as a trainee and as a young AT teacher.
The Alexander Technique continues to ground important aspects of Sydney’s personal life and interests. Currently, she is immersed in the study of the neuroplastic and psychological aspects of the AT, including its intersection with psychoanalysis, trauma, emotional balance and social justice.
