Embodied Action with The Poise Project

For decades, and in countless professional meetings and conferences, AT teachers have discussed amongst themselves: “How can the Alexander principles be better known? What is the ‘Future of AT’?” The Poise Project was launched in 2016 to move these discussions forward into action.

For nine years, with single-minded determination, a nonprofit infrastructure, and a strategic model, our team has seen growing success and broadening support. The way forward needs teamwork — teams that include AT professionals, members of the public, like-minded professionals in related fields, and community leaders. In this way we have moved outward to promote AT principles, forge partnerships, and create real world demand for them globally.

In this interactive gathering in Dublin, Nina Reed and other team members from the United States will give an update on The Poise Project’s actions and results in the USA, and other team members from the United Kingdom and elsewhere will give an update on The Poise Project’s UK actions and additional international results. Then everyone can participate in a lively discussion on how to create demand for the Alexander principles, join these Poise Project team efforts, and learn how to train for these new jobs in new fields and new settings.

Our decade of experience using embodied action has shown that there is nothing but opportunity for the AT principles globally, in 2025 and beyond.
