This is a practical workshop in which Paul and Tessa demonstrate and explore playful procedures with movement games in relation to the work on ourselves, each other and the use of hands from the Carrington tradition.
From their extensive experience of working in theatre and dance they have devised these ‘games’ as part of their philosophy of training AT teachers in Amsterdam. It involves a more layered and practical understanding of the primary movement, allowing more ease and lightness in ourselves, and in our teaching while meeting others.
This way of working has proved useful in supporting a growing confidence in teaching the Technique. Brought with a characteristic sense of ease and humour, the ‘games’ explore tacit skills like poise, intention, stillness, and spatial awareness. This enriches the subtlety of our hands-on work.
