Embodying your Alexander Message – The Elevator Pitch

How do you introduce the Alexander Technique to a new client or group class?   Would you like to express yourself with more vocal confidence and ease?   Would you like to explore ways to bring more of your unique qualities to your group teaching?

This workshop will explore integrating your full vocal range, clear speaking, humour and creativity, as you speak about the Alexander Technique.  The course will be led in English, but participants are encouraged to introduce the technique in whatever language they are most comfortable in.   Participants will examine ways  to develop an ‘elevator’ pitch on the technique and how they teach.  They will examine ways to integrate the principles of the Alexander Technique to enhance their voice use.  Janet will explore simple vocal and speech techniques, based on her extensive experience as a voice/dialects coach, as well as her in depth background as an AT coach.  You will develop more confidence in speaking with  your whole body, employing more range and clarity.  Janet creates an inclusive atmosphere where participants can experiment with new ideas in a supportive setting.

Learning Outcomes:

After this workshop you will:

  • Develop strategies to tailor an introduction about the  technique to reflect your strengths and express your unique creativity
  • Develop an awareness for how to speak about the technique with clarity and confidence so you can adapt your message to the needs of your participants
  • Develop strategies for a vocal preparation, integrating the Alexander Principles with simple voice explorations
